Video Nasties

UK Tour

London based Video Nasties have announced details of a new UK headline tour this Spring, including a show with Black Lips at the Great Escape Festival in Brighton.

Following the release of their debut album On All Fours through their own Dead Again label (13th April), the band will head out across the UK throughout May, with Japanese Voyeurs on support duty. Full details can be found on their Myspace.

In the run up to release the band have been playing some free residency shows with special guest acts and DJs, and giving away exclusive, very limited edition versions of On All Fours with alternate artwork at the Old Blue Last, Shoreditch. You can still catch the last one on 14th April.

Video Nasties single, ‘Jellybean’, is out now.

Tiny Masters Of Today

UK tour and single!

Yet another musical Brooklyn export, this time in a small package to save on postage; the ridiculously young Tiny Masters Of Today return to the UK this month, headlining The Lexington’s Mute Irregulars night on the 13th and the Luminaire on the 14th. They also support Errors at the ICA on 15th April and are featuring in an Artrocker all ages show at Vibe Bar on 19th April. For more details, check out their MySpace blog.

The miniature heroes also release fantastic new single, ‘Skeletons’ next week; ridiculously repetitive, energetic lo-fi fuzz with more of the same on B-side ‘Feel OK’. It’s hard to know whether you love it or hate it. One thing’s for sure though, it gets under your skin quicker than a tick on steroids and apparently, that’s a growing problem among young men these days. Steroids, not ticks. You never know though…

Passion Pit

'The Reeling' Widgets

Having premiered their brand new single 'The Reeling' on MySpace, Passion Pit are now harnessing the power of modern technology to bring their music directly to you. They’ve created (probably not personally, but still…) an embeddable player that you can cut out and  keep! ‘Grab / Get / Embed ... do what you will’ are the exhaustive instructions from the band. What are you waiting for? Choose your weapon (‘Fancy’ or ‘Simple’) and follow the links to get your exclusive coding:

    * Fancy player

    * Simple player

'The Reeling' is out on the 11th of May followed by the debut album Manners on the 18th of May. The band will return to the UK around the album release so keep an eye out for gig dates!

The Virgins

Debut Album

Part 80s glam pop (think Duran Duran), part skuzzy gutter rock, NYC’s latest hottest new band The Virgins sound like Tigercity, Chromeo, Francis & The Lights…and every now and then, Hard-Fi; but we’ll try and ignore that. They’ve probably never heard of them, right?

The Virgins’ songs have already featured on Gossip Girl. Then again, whose haven’t? We may start just checking the Gossip Girl credits for our new music tips from now on…They also have an exhausting list of live dates on their MySpace including 23rd April at Heaven and 24th April at The Roundhouse.

Try before you buy

Their self-titled debut album is out now and you can hear the whole damn thing on their site now. Go listen; make up your own mind! We recommend ‘Murder’, Duran Duran eat your heart out!
