This is the least immediate of the singles released so far, it’s also less scatty and manic than what we’ve come to expect from her. Lyrically more direct, 'Hollywood' is about being infatuated with something that should repulse, aspiring to something should disgusts you: “Living in a movie scene, puking American dreams/I’m obsessed with the mess that’s America”- according to Marina it was written with her younger self in mind. Musically, we’re on familiar ground here but big, arms-in-the-air synths with an immensely addictive chorus make it. - Joe Hooper
