Once again: At least I still have my Smarties!

Question: Adam, can you recommend a video game?

Answer: Truth is I haven’t really played video games for like, I don’t know, at least 8 years. The last game I completed was Rayman on a Playstation.

I completed Rayman (looks very happy and excited), it’s my favourite game since Mario Brothers. it’s the first Rayman on Playstation, amazing game, like my favourite! And I know it’s the oldest game but it’s my favourite, oh it’s amazing! (Laughs) Yeah it’s kind of like Super Mario Bros... that was the last one I played even that felt like I haven’t playd a game in a long time.

I used to work at a video game store in St. Marks Place (New York) and I am getting fired because of my lack of enthusiasm to video games. The job was alright, I was really easy and kids would come in for recommendations, I never had any recommendations because I never played games, I didn’t play video games so I got fired. It’s a shame they closed though. Right now I could really go for a refurbished Nintendo (laughs), they sold all these refurbished Nintendo’s.

SS: Where else did you work before becoming a musician?

I didn’t  really intern because I was signed with Rough Trade when I was 18. Before I worked at a pizzeria and I worked at a used clothing store called Rags-A-GoGo in the East Village. I wrote Werner Herzog an email. That was the first thing I really did. And he never got me back, that sucks. It hurts.
