OFFSET has one hell of a manifesto. Publically declaring why you should crawl into the forestry borders of London, they bleat YES to bringing “a radical mix of critically lauded acts”, YES a “revitalising Sexy Breakfast” and YES to their tag-line “Small is Beautiful”. Like any casual malcontent, we couldn’t wait to PROVE THEM WRONG. So SUPERSWEET masqueraded ourselves as innocent spectators to harass the line up and see if their ideals matched up with OFFSET’s. Hmph, apart from foiling the lies of a barber shop (which we never found), it was a landslide. Alec Empire hailed the ditty festival, Akiko Matsuura (Comanechi) screeched on fairground rides and Monotonix received some sweet advances from security guards.
