In The Beginning
Our story reaches from Eastern Asia to Western Europe. Originally intended as a fanzine to accompany Thailand’s only alternative club night Dudesweet, SUPERSWEET developed into a fully-fledged magazine and website, becoming one of the most talked about ventures in Bangkok.
London Calling…
In 2007, SUPERSWEET took advantage of London as a cultural hub of every persuasion, re-launching as SUPERSWEET DIGITAL - both a new look magazine and digital shop. It wasn’t long before we developed a global reputation in fashion, and in 2008, our digital shop became integral to the site. We made it our mission to source the best in luxury off-beat brands from around the world, stocking as far afield as Australia (Third Drawer Down), L.A (Alex + Chloe) and Thailand (MAFIA). By 2009, we acquired a stock list of exclusive alternative brands, including Opening Ceremony, Spijkers en Spijkers, Steve J & Yoni P, IVANAhelsinki, Alexander Herchcovitch and Noble Youth.
Into the future
The success of our shop demanded new priorities, so SUPERSWEET set to work re-designing a cool new shop-orientated website with magazine on the side. The labels we stock are worthy of a fresh space in which to boast their talents. For customers, our new website is clearer, bolder and easier to use for the best experience in digital shopping. And not forgetting our faithful readers, we created the SUPERSWEET ZOO: a jungle of collaborative editorial featuring all the best in fashion, art and music like we always did, except this time all rolled into one! This means readers and customers alike can browse for cultural tit-bits while shopping for unique brands. Here at SUPERSWEET, everybody wins. We’re not super sweet for nothing!
Manifesto
But wait. “All this talk of fashion and culture surely implies a kind of hard-faced stoicism reserved for the middle-classes!” we hear you cry. Well, no. Even though we take upcoming artists and designers very seriously, helping to promote the best in new work and develop key relationships with customers, we’re also silly and often a little on the random side. Life is ridiculous and fun is important. It is for us anyway. So whilst we’re sometimes a little haphazard in our approach, we do love each and every one of our collaborators and designers with all of our collective hearts. SUPERSWEET will continue long in the future, and we hope your visit to our corner of cyberspace is an interesting and frequently memorable one!
